The law protects the relationship between client and therapist/counselor and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.

Exceptions include:

  • Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which we are required by law to report this to the appropriate authories immediately.

  • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person(s), we must notify the police and inform the intended victim.

  • If a client intends to harm himself or herself, we make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety.  If they do not cooperate, we will take further measures without their permission that are provided to us by law in order to ensure their safety.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

Yes, I currently accept Cigna, United Health Care, select Emblem Health and GHI members and Magnacare. Self-pay and sliding scale options are available. Give me a call to verify if your insurance is accepted.

HOW LONG IS A SESSION?

I tend to tailor sessions according to my clients needs. Generally individual sessions are 45 minutes long, family sessions are one hour.

DO YOU HAVE A CANCELLATION POLICY?

Yes, 24 hour cancellation is required in order not to be charged for the full session

WHAT WILL OUR FIRST SESSION LOOK LIKE?

Our first session will include us getting to know each other in a warm and comforting environment.  I will begin to understand what has brought you to therapy and collaborate on how we will peel through those issues by prioritizing your concerns. Together we will implement solutions to help you achieve your therapy goals.

WHAT PROVISIONS ARE YOU MAKING AS A RESULT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC?

As a result of the ongoing pandemic, all current sessions have been transitioned to teletherapy using HIPPA certified communication platforms. Clients have the option to choose which teletherapy platform is most suitable for their needs.
