I am a New York State Licensed Social Worker with over 10 years of experience working in child welfare, hospital behavioral health settings and schools which have afforded me the opportunity to craft my skill of helping others live a satisfied and fulfilling life. My personal experience and training has sparked my interest in working with immigrant and other marginalized communities and utilizing the therapeutic space to unpack migrant experience.
Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can. This is my basic premise from which I practice my clinical approach. Often times life throws many curve balls that makes you feel overwhelmed, stuck, lost and fearful. During these times growth and change can seem like a far fetched idea and can affect you well into adulthood, but life is not meant to be lived this way.
Jamaican Born and Queens based, I earned my Masters in Social Work at Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Hunter College CUNY. I have an Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Assessment and Diagnosis from NYU Silver School of Social Work. My goal is to empower individuals by using the right tools, a supportive environment and the use of a strengths based, person-in-environment framework. Through collaborative therapy work, I can help you build on your strengths to navigate life's stressors and mental health complexities.
